Angela
Blessing is the Designer and Creator of stunning adornment
and talismans dedicated to the natural mystic within each
of us. Acclaimed as a rising star of sacred jewelry and neo-tribal
artwear, Angela’s one-of-a-kind works of art laden with
rich symbolism and precious/semi-precious gemstones in gold
and silver have captured the attention of an international
audience.
Angela’s
career as a professional designer began at age 22 met the
Shaman-Artist-Mystic, Star Sparks who would change the course
of her life with an incredibly generous offer. Sparks was
very well-known as the signature Talismanic Silversmith of
Sun Bear’s Medicine Wheel Gatherings, a revolutionary
converging of Indigenous Elders and Spiritual Leaders from
around the world through the 70's, 80’s and early 90’s
until Sun Bear’s passing in 1992. Spark’s personal
friendships and involvement with these wisdom keepers, visionary
activists, and published authorities on the nature of human
consciousness, enriched and informed his own artistic pursuits
so elegantly expressed through his captivating jewelry designs.
Sparks, at age 47 and 28 years of jeweler experience, had
never accepted and apprentice until he met Angela in 1996
in Telluride, CO. Thus, the journey that began as a transmission
grew into a partnership for the next 3 and a half years until
Spark’s sudden death in 1999.
Angela Blessing
carried on and evolved the important message of “Life
As Art” through the hand-fabrication of jeweled creations
in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She continues to honor that connection
to the sacred traditions of empowering adornment with an attitude
of gratitude to her extraordinary teacher and mentor,

As Angela’s
career as a designer flourished in Santa Fe, she began to
look to the West for a different kind inspiration direct from
the Fashion Mecca of Los Angeles, California. In 2001 Angela
Blessing hit the L. A. fashion jewelry industry with well-deserved
respect and growing recognition for her bold, dramatic designs
that had something decidedly unique to offer. Her works have
been featured at Billy Martin’s on Sunset Blvd, and
purchased by celebrities like Mickey Rork and Lauren Fiorentino.
In the middle of
this flowering of opportunity and success, the unimaginable
occurred. After a swanky art and fashion showcase in December
of 2001, Angela’s entire jewelry collection was stolen-almost
100 individual works, representing 2 or 3 years of work and
investment! Stunned, devastated yet convinced that something
good could from such misfortune…new opportunities beckoned.
Over the next couple of years she and her new husband Hallelujah,
co-designed the environments and systems of a premier Aquatic
Bodywork Training Facility and Massage School as General Managers
and Consultants. This was a time of regrouping and rebuilding,
while developing new areas of expertise, vital to her and
her husband’s life mission.
Upon completion
of that project in late 2003, Angela felt the call to the
eccentric, progressive, oceanside town of Santa Cruz, where
she continues to create and thrive in a beautiful downtown,
beach-side location right out of a modern-day fairy tale.
