Sawing out Gold Horse Image for Custom Jewelry Piece

Sawing out Gold Horse Image for Custom Jewelry Piece. My client wanted to bring the energy of the Fire Horse, her Chinese Astrological Symbol and incorporate it into a special personalized power piece to commemorate this potent time in her life and all the powerful things she is initiating and creating. She wanted the medicine of the Fire Horse to supercharge her life and her projects! It’s so special to be part of her process in this way.

Created centerpiece pendant, and beginning to build the side elements in sterling silver wit Gold Overlay. She has brown and hazel eyes and honey-colored hair so we chose fall color tones that both echoed the fiery energy we are infusing the piece with as well as creating a great overall multi-dimension color palette that works with many the colors she typically loves to wear. This commission is single sided, but I often can accomplish even a broader color palette by making the piece reversible with an alternative gemstone selection on the other side.

This is what the elements look like after the jewelry antiquing process. I submerge the pieces in a liver of sulfur bath and this turns the silver black. Next, I’ll be doing a couple of polishes on the pieces after I set the stones in them. This will take of most of the black, leaving beautiful dimensions of shadow and reflective surface that brings out the texturing and design. Gold remains mostly bright because it doesn’t tarnish.

Here is the piece after the polishing and I/ve beaded the elements of the Fire Horse Necklace together. I’ll wait to see my client in person to do the final fitting and tie off the end and clasp attachments. She is going to love it!
